Side Notes

Some quick thoughts—may expand into a longer post eventually:

• Even if you don’t see obvious (or subtle!) similarity between yourself and celebrities of a given type, you might still share that type

  • There’s enormous range in how every style type looks. And two people with the exact same style type can look extremely different from one another

• Relatedly, it’s difficult (maybe impossible) to assign specific facial features to any blended type—like to say that a particular type always has large eyes or a square chin or anything else. That’s why a Buzzfeed-style quiz that asks about the shapes and sizes of your facial features probably isn’t the ideal path to learning your essences. There’s just so much range in the literal features of every type

• Similarly, even if you don’t relate to my figurative descriptions of a given essence blend, it could still be your type. People who share the exact same style type can have very different “vibes,” too

In sum: there’s a lot of nuance and complication in how the different types tend to look!

This nuance can contribute to making style analysis confusing, but it can also make it intriguing, thought-provoking, and fun : )
